At It’s Raining Cats & Dogs, LLC Luxury Pet Resort, the health and safety of all our furry guests are of utmost importance to us. To maintain a secure and enjoyable environment, we require all pets to be up-to-date on their vaccinations. Proper vaccinations not only protect your beloved companions but also safeguard the well-being of other pets in our care.
Vaccination Requirements for Dogs:
- Rabies (1 or 3 Years): This crucial vaccination protects against the rabies virus, which is a serious and often fatal disease.
- Distemper (1 or 3 Years): Distemper is a highly contagious viral illness that can lead to severe respiratory, gastrointestinal, and neurological issues.
- Bordetella (6 Months is required): Bordetella, commonly known as kennel cough, is an airborne respiratory infection similar to the human common cold that spreads rapidly in places where dogs interact in close contact, such as pet boarding facilities, doggie daycare facilities or dog parks. For the Bordatella vaccine to be effective, it must be administered a minimum of 10 days prior to your pet’s boarding or daycare visit if the vaccine has expired.
- Negative Fecal Test Results: the fecal test must include the negative results from the
veterinarian. The date the fecal test was taken is not sufficient. (New guests within 1 month
prior to their stay, recurring guests 6 months after) Please Note: Veterinarians generally list that the test was completed but do not list the negative test results. We need the negative test results. It is your responsibility to get these results. We recommend that you get the fecal test as close to 30 days as possible because if your dog does have a parasite, some parasites require 2 (14 day) treatments before the parasites are gone. Waiting until the last minute may cause you to have to cancel your trip. We would hate for lack of planning on YOUR part to hinder travel plans as we are not able to make exceptions to our policy as it puts other pets at risk.
We Highly Recommend the K-9 Influenza and Leptospirosis Vaccines for All Dogs!
Canine influenza (dog flu) is a contagious respiratory infection that can lead to severe illness. To protect your dog and other guests, we strongly advise all dog owners to consider the K-9 Influenza Vaccine.

- Distemper (1 or 3 Years): Distemper in cats is a viral disease that can cause respiratory, gastrointestinal, and neurological issues, and it’s vital to protect your cat with this vaccination.
Ensuring Compliance:
Before bringing your pet to It’s Raining Cats & Dogs, LLC Luxury Pet Resort, please ensure they are up-to-date on the required vaccinations. Proper documentation of vaccinations will be required during the check-in process. If your pet is due for any vaccinations, we recommend visiting your veterinarian well before their stay to ensure full protection.
